I’m going to close the app for the day.
There are no easy answers. Pain was always going to be the result of a full US withdrawal. Sickened at the scenes over the past week.
Praying for Afghanistan & the US soldiers & diplomats who served there over the last 19+ years.

I’ve worked for 1 politician in my life: .
It was amazing to see the dignity, thoughtfulness and erudition he brought to the office. His staff, in DC & Ohio, were always of the highest quality & worked incredibly hard to help constituents.
Thank you Senator Portman

Why do I think the Ohio Republican Party is the strongest in America.
The 4 Ohio border counties (Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning & Columbian) swung 4.2% right (including flipping Mahoning).
The 5 Pennsylvania border counties moved just .5% (including Erie going blue).

This is my only thought when someone quotes Rhodes.
His advanced degree is an MFA and his previous career experience is being a rich Manhattan kid and writing speeches for politicians.

Last week, I received shot 💉 #2 in the Phase III Covid-19 vaccine trial.
I have no doubt science will win...and my son will have this awkward photo of dad’s arm to ask about in a few years.

Every time I look at Twitter I’m reminded both about how amazing the near instant flow of information is....and how hard you have to work to keep your guard up against biased data/sources and opinion that’s based on the same.
Read, think, [research], then react.

Fran and I are saddened to hear of the death of State Representative Don Manning. Don was a tireless advocate for advancing issues important to the Mahoning Valley while in Columbus, including advocacy on behalf of Lordstown workers and economic development in the area.

In my first politcal radio interview, I followed some ex-lawyer who was running a long shot bid for president. Cool to see do so well.
The host and I spent the first 10 minutes talking about how great his book “Smart People Should Build Things” is.

The fictional Josiah Bartlet would get run off the debate stage in the 2020 Democratic Party.
He is a characterization of what the 1999 Dem party wanted: Privately religious, highly educated, successful spouse....like a NE/Midwest JFK/Bill Clinton w/o the personal baggage
Quote Tweet
Where are you, President Bartlet? Oh, there you are. Many Democrats can't get enough of ‘The West Wing’ right now. Old episodes have become TV comfort food in a presidential election season. nyti.ms/2QrI41z

Politcal nerd item of the day:
Ohio hasn’t had a Democrat Auditor, w/o the last name “Ferguson”, since 1925.
Joe T. Ferguson (1937-1953; 1971-1975) and, what I assume was a relative, Tom E. Ferguson (1975-1995)

What a trash piece of legislation.
Yay, let’s put up more artificial barriers to the job market and waste some more tax payer money on a board.
please do your magic and stop this.

Before #DemocraticDebate, note:
Ohio education was ranked #5 in the country when Kasich took office but #24 when he left, so voters should take a closer look at how Democrats built up education there and Republicans tore it down. My op-ed:

Not just b/c of the visit to my hometown, but b/c it is a book that doesn’t give you answers but leaves u with questions. Questions to ask about our values, our motivations & our prospective.
