    The PC police are not ruining comedy. It is a challenging time to be making jokes. You either accept the challenge or retreat into a past that was easier for you. I hope that this kind of selfish, easy, decency-contrarianism soon becomes as hack as airline food and mother-in-laws

    On Jan 1st, a spacecraft will do a flyby of an object past Pluto. "It will be the most distant, most ancient world we've ever visited, and we didn't even know it existed until four and a half years ago." This thread is amazing. People doing real exploration and time travel.

    2014 MU69's orbit put it squarely in the midst of a sub-component of the Kuiper Belt called the Cold Classical region (shown as orange points here). This is more or less what we expected, as it is the most densely-populated part of the Kuiper Belt along New Horizons' path.

    V. good thread. It's somewhat amusing to me that economists ever had that mental model. Only in a spreadsheet could tweaking one variable lead to a wholescale social & technological transformation.

    Okay, why not. One more thread on carbon pricing because I think this below is an important point worth expanding on. Economists and climate advocates often *do* think of carbon taxes very differently. /1

    He thought it was a 115 mile long contract, turns out it was just a receipt from CVS.

    I am in the Oval Office & just gave out a 115 mile long contract for another large section of the Wall in Texas. We are already building and renovating many miles of Wall, some complete. Democrats must end Shutdown and finish funding. Billions of Dollars, & lives, will be saved!
