Dear Santa:
Please bring me a big train like the one at Steeplegate mall. My sister and I would give rides to everyone.
Please bring me Thomas the Tank Engine books, plastic trains, clothes and also wooden Thomas Trains. Thomas the Tank Engine is my favorite. Thank you. I love you.

here’s a fun one i don’t think i’ve posted before — back when muni’s 7 haight line was a streetcar, it operated north/south through golden gate park on its own dedicated path. that path is publicly accessible today!

I know it's very san francisco to be like people are not paying enough attention to san francisco but it's nice that someone is reading and summarizing our letters to the CPUC because it does feel like more people should know what's happening here!

NEW: In a blunt letter to California regulators, San Francisco officials outlined many, many ways in which Cruise’s robotaxis are making a mess of city streets. It’s pretty wild. 🧵 below

note: i'm looking solely at citations issued on buses/surface vehicles, there are more if you add citations given at stations. also: most citations are not even paid. looking at citations issued in September, as of December 21, 43% were still unpaid and another 24% were waived.

The MTA Board correctly identified the main source of conflict, and potential danger, on Slow Streets as everyone attempting to police their own interpretation of the rules on the signs. The mayor doesn't like the rules and wants the signs gone. Guess who gets priority!

more watering down of slow streets: SFMTA just covered up the words “local traffic only” on signs on page slow street — despite the city traffic engineer approving making the restriction permanent, a board vote on it next tuesday, and 85% of residents supporting the restriction.
