    Funding Update for : With all funding sources and cash on hand, we have our 2019 publishing budget covered IN FULL—$10,000!!! Holy sh!t. 🙌🏽😭 We are now pushing to raise funds for our community events: panel discussions, mixers, performances, etc.

    Baby fever is cute, but have you ever sat in a parking lot for an hour while your teen is off doing a thing but it didn’t make sense for you to drive all the way home in case they couldn’t get a ride & you only had 15 mins notice before you got into the car? That’s parenting.

    GOT AN UPDATE! Mom’s friend is here now. The fam had 2 services w/o the body, which wasn’t “presentable” post-autopsy...? Her fam is more @ peace after seeing a video of her, chronically ill, saying she was tired & done w/ treatment. Body’s still @ funeral home due to nonpayment.

    Just learned that a family friend’s brother’s wife passed & he, a pastor, propped her up in the pulpit w him last Sunday, certain she’d be coming back to life soon. Her parents learned she died when they walked in the church & saw her propped up. Tears. Police. Drama. Whew.

    As grandma’s dementia advances, we notice small changes in her cooking. Doing fewer empanada & hot pepper sauce orders. I’m absorbing everything. We want to mass produce/sell her sauce in Latino & Caribbean stores, farmers markets, Panamanian & Caribbean reunions/festivals, etc.

    Making grandma’s empanadas for the 1st time tomorrow. She showed me once (let me assemble 2), but I told her I want to do it myself (for Mother’s Day). She’s going to supervise & promised not to take over. Next: her fried rice. Then: her hot pepper sauce. 🇵🇦
