Thinking about coming out of conference talk retirement to do one on career advice and I’m not sure what the interest level would be. Poll?

  2. If you’re burning your Nikes to “support veterans” instead of GIVING them to homeless veterans whose health care Trump degraded, then maybe it’s time to question what you’re REALLY so upset about.

  4. It’s rich that Slate is blaming “Democratic base” for Kavanaugh’s confirmation going forward, rather than oh, say CHUCK SCHUMER. Schumer, Pelosi, Feinstein, etc have been absolutely complicit in moving *rump’s agenda forward, yet not a peep about their abysmal failure to oppose.

The real Labor Day is May 1st, May Day. They moved it away from May first in order to take all the class struggle and international solidarity along class lines out of it. If you already know this, this message isn't for you.

Now is a good time to remember that on top of being a white nationalist who has dedicated his life to spreading fascism, Steve Bannon just last year sent a crew down to Alabama for the explicit purpose of launching a smear campaign against women accusing Roy Moore of sexual abuse

  8. It's done. I ran for Board president, got elected, and brought in a locally-owned ISP to get Comcast out of my entire condo building. New ISP provides increments of 100Mbps symmetric for $5 a tier; starts at $20. Low income (and all) residents are ecstatic.

“Senator Flake and I can’t in good conscience allow this president, who understands our justice system so little, to install a Justice on the Supreme Court who hasn’t been fully vetted in keeping with our best traditions,” he failed to add.

  10. Either way, huge win for Bannon. Once invited, he’d get either attention and legitimization OR attention and claim to victimization. I’d guess he’d prefer the latter, which is what he now has been gifted.

The Remmick statement is a fine example that political positions which threaten the lives of society's most vulnerable--women, people of color, immigrants, the poor--can be viewed as "valuable" information to rich white men.

  12. Lol at all the right-wingers whining about 1st Amendment after Bannon’s appearance was cancelled. Is part of US government? Why are people who make the most noise about The Constitution always the most ignorant about it?

  14. So what you’re saying is that the FBI was engaged in a legitimate counterintelligence investigation into Russian influence long _before_ you were a candidate—such that the claim that the whole episode was a conspiracy to target (and weaken) your campaign is bollocks? Got it...

I've been thinking about the below statement from . Elections are coming is not a legitimate legal defense. Trump is thus corruptly endeavoring to influence two investigations by pressuring Jeff Sessions to not proceed with the cases. That's Obstruction of Justice

In any remotely healthy political system, a president openly saying this would be a major scandal provoking unanimous bipartisan condemnation. In 2018 it’ll be maybe a two day “Democrats criticize...” story.

  20. Fascism is not an idea. It's an assertion of power for power's sake. You can't argue with it. What sounds like ideas in fascism is (explicitly!) deliberate bullshit meant to keep you idiotically talking while they plot. To normalize it as "opposition" is to give in to it.
