do it! i’ve been considering trying improv for like a year, but i’ve been dragging my feet (it’s definitely bc fear and insecurity) which reminds me of another wrinkle here—the stuff that i get tongue tied about is basically always related to negative emotions

I gtg to bed. But first I’ll fire these off at u: Do you need to maintain your identity? My interpretation of ego is identity, so it sounds like both emotions and improv are blocked by ego. Who are you when you’re doing improv?

i don’t feel compelled to maintain my identity—in fact i try to actively develop it in directions that i like however i think of ego as a distinct thing from identity, which i do try to protect and “maintain” (this is closer to the real blocker, i think)https://twitter.com/choosy_mom/status/1218978348069638146 …

definitely, i try to write about it and talk about it in safe, low stakes environments i think i’d like to be more disagreeable, but i’m not convinced it’s a good thing for me to let my negative-judgmental self off the leash entirely
