I wonder how much more articulate I could become. Is that even a generalizable thing or does articulation depend largely on properly understanding what I would like to say?

i def still talk too much—i think it became especially tempting when i gained enough verbal fluency to be able to ramble indefinitely mainly i’m saying this bc i think people underestimate how much more power an articulate person’s words can hold when they show restraint

Wait yo tell me everything you know and how you learned it. From the top! You speak of powers I do yet not possess. I can ramble, but I’d like to get faster at explaining myself more clearly

i'm like the reverse....what so u can just say what you're thinking of and it just comes out right??

yeah pretty much. when i’m riffing and flowing the words just pour out, no transcription needed it’s a little like riding a bike, or mastering the controls to a video game—the words cease to feel like a lossy/delayed conduit for transmitting the stuff in my head

I have problems with going straight to my talking points. I would pack all the "relevant" information into my sentences, thus it becomes extremely verbose. My problem is with lossy and not lossless compression

mm yeah i do this a lot in professional contexts—i often find that the stuff i rambled about was actually not important at the moment, and i would have fared better if i’d spent more time in discovery mode (asking q’s, gathering context, trying to identify the best “entry point”)
