my main beef with shoulds is that i see them as reinforcing shitty understandings of what we are and how we function

What if:
- self-discipline is a false idol
- we don’t have to coerce ourselves into doing unpleasant things
- and properly interrogated, our revealed preferences will organically point us in the right direction?
On the other hand, what if you don’t like your preferences?
