Actually I don’t want to broadly condemn Chinese culture. But I do think that Chinese parents that moved to the West are *uniquely* bad at parenting.

i think you’re right about this many non-chinese immigrant groups (south asian, middle eastern, etc.) seem to have similar parenting styles re: pressure/judgment/comparison

totally. i’ve observed similar dynamics, and i think it’s because their parents had: - less environmental stress (no language barrier, family nearby, etc.) - accurate models of the cultural territory they were raising their children for both of which help create trust w kids
