As someone whose childhood was spent in the most suburban suburb imaginable, lacking in any and all possible stimuli, shelter-in-place just feels a lot like my teenage years. Full weekends spent online without the attention span to even watch a movie.

I’m thankful I had the online angsty phase when I was young. Got all the Facebook and twitter fights out of my system by the time I was 15 in phpbb forums

One thing that saddens me though is how much shame I felt about it all. Felt like a total loser and by the end of high school/early college I had abandoned the whole online thing. Eventually made good friends in college but took a while to socialize in that way

I don’t think it was until like 2-3 years ago that I remembered just how much of my youth was spent online. Erased all of it from my memory

once in a while i’ll stumble upon an old internet artifact and realize again how many online-related memories i’ve suppressed from my early teens and have yet to unearth
