I wonder how it feels to be raised in the same culture your parents grew up in. I wonder the implications of a cultural split brought about by an uprooting for the parents. The kids can't ground in the new culture & can't access their culture of origin. What do they grow up in??

So true. I think only after learning abut indigenous ways of life & being (from Anishinaabe elders in "Canada"), where we acknowledged our ancestral lineage in the beginning of every circle, did I really start to appreciate & wonder about my own traditions & ancestral knowledge.

Kind of tangential but still relevant IMO to your quoted tweet
@choosy_mom - I've been really intrigued & hope to learn more about indigenous ancestral dreams. Perhaps we can still access that knowledge & wisdom through other realms? http://dreamtalk.hypermart.net/abstracts2006/willliams.htm …
