Really interesting trend I'm seeing here! I've discussed something similar w/ friends here in Toronto~partly fueled by how unaffordable housing here is becoming + community seeking beyond our families. Seems like a Marie Curie The Cooperative situation

I’m pretty sold on the idea of a ritually defined, temporally/spatially enclosed community of chosen friends I think our collective desire for this (and ability to create it) is especially high in the period after we leave our families but before we start our own

Most of our spaces and institutions are poorly designed to create this kind of community, which means any attempt to do it will necessarily require significant subversive effort + group commitment
