recently i’ve gotten a little self-conscious about the verbal tic where i end sentences with “right?” but then continue talking without actually pausing to give others the opportunity to validate/invalidate the point

in a weak sense, this habit is an insufferable-tech-bro signal that might put people off (which i’d like to avoid) but also, if the point i’m making is self-evident enough to warrant this sort of digression, then i probably didn’t need to throw the “right?” in anyway right?

that’s usually not the way i use it; for me, it often just means “this is right, agree with me” when i’m really not sure, i tend to qualify myself a lot more extensively and deliberately
