I’ve been pretty lucky in cultivating a Twitter community that is overwhelmingly positive & respectful, but a few of my female friends have run into men shaming them for posting tame selfies/accusing them of being “thots” (& worse) and it’s pretty frustrating to witness

That's a helpful insight. Something I've noticed about the men who have alarmed me most in my life is that they seemed to be unable to see women as individuals, instead assigning the qualities of all women they dislike or felt unfairly treated by to the woman at hand.
