All of this stuff is priced into the equilibrium prices people command when they work at companies and the sense of unfairness is really a sense of realising that you acted on incomplete information

You’re right; while companies are often incentivized to limit your information, they can only afford to underpay to a realistic degree Major concessions on working conditions, hours, and culture are more easily justified by corporate mission (e.g. customer-obsessiveness)
