in college, one of my roommates had a really distinctive way of walking and making gestures as he spoke, very expressive when his dad came to visit for parents weekend, it became very clear that my roommate had been mimicking his dad his entire life
one of my favorite things about meeting people's parents is noticing how they have the EXACT SAME body language

to be clear, this isn't a bad thing (original ≠ good, everything is a remix, etc.) our parents verbal styles ultimately become *our* verbal styles, but nevertheless it's interesting how much of it is inherited, potentially over many generations
