Those noises read “I can never understand, but I see you, I hear you. I’m still learning.” Some really do mean it, even though one can’t help but think “At last!” But it’s mostly noise lol

I cannot know for sure, of course, but I truly have hope that there is a real shift affoot. I’m sure this was felt in the 60’s too, & yet we are still fighting the same problems. I pledge to work, & not just coo & continue.

That’s basically the theory of Modern Racism (Journal of Conflict Resolution 1981) - it’s a Social Psych construct used to explain the evident race (and Gender ID) bias in public and private attitudes + behaviors. IDK if it’s still taught much but the scale gets lots of use still
