        My dad suffered with Parkinson's and had hope with every treatment covered breathlessly in the media that was right on the horizon. Media do a terrible job of explaining science.

        But there's a grey area. There's nothing scientifically wrong with "in hindsight, the RCT was underpowered, so now the best we can do is an observational study", although that outcome should prompt some soul-searching.
