It’s always the same thing with these meds; they get you with their early efficacy data, and then break your heart when you’re ready to settle down with some solid effectiveness data. I’m not 25 anymore. What I want out of therapeutics is different.

Yeah... I work in clinical trials, have done so for about 15 years. I can count on one hand how many have made it all the way to approval. Wouldn't even have to use all the fingers. And that's not even going in to long-term follow-up.

I'd like to know if any antiviral medication for any virus significantly improves someone who is infected. We have antivirals for flu, RSV, varicella and now COVID. You're right, not impressive. But all we got until a vaccine.
