Ah yes, that protected class of people, the president and his daughter.

Hmmm.. Cody. Should there be a protected class of people? Isn’t that kind of racist? To lump people into a group based on a common, likely appearance based, characteristic? Or is a protected class nice and vague like ‘victims’ or ‘minorities’? Who decides who gets protected?

Its pretty easy actually. Don't make fun of people because of race or sexual orientation. Theres your protected class...literally everyone who doesn't want to be harassed about things outside of their control

I agree with you morally but it's not against the law to make fun of anyone for any reason. And would you consider fat people protected class from your definition of harassment? Being fat is within their control. Can we insult them?

Well that depends on the person. People who are overweight don't have a history of oppression, subjugation and segregation like people have had for sexual identity or race so I wouldn't include them, no.

So because they weren't oppressed in the past it's ok to humiliate and harass them now?

No one is endorsing harassing or humiliating anyone. I am however pointing out that allowing people to harass based on sexual preference or race, is a sure fire way to embolden white supremacy and alt right ideologies to thrive. Making fun of people who are overweight doesn't.

See this is where most people make their mistakes. You feel we should sensor anything that emboldens white supremacists but are ok with emboldening other hate groups. There are people that ridicule overweight people to the point of suicide. There are black people they openly...

All you're doing here is derailing the conversation. No one has said anything bad against people who are overweight. No one is saying it is okay to do, but right now, this is about race and homophobia. Not every single fight needs to involve everything we're fighting for.
