Seriously? There is no non-deprecated way in 10.8 to figure out what version of Mac OS X you're on? Parse the SystemVersion.plist is it???

@chockenberry The fact that a method exists doesn’t mean that (a) it’s public in that version of the OS or (b) it works. -

@chockenberry We've come full circle. Sometimes a class is exported before it is public. Sometimes you want to avoid bugs. -

@danwr Using AppKit version for other frameworks is as bad as using the system version, though. Not all frameworks define a version.
