Well, there's a methodological reason these studies can only be conducted with a large delay: To study the divorce risk, one has to see how long the marriage holds, and that can take longer than ten years. However, here is a more recent study. Turns out the trend remains.pic.twitter.com/2X6saPFALM

That graph does not fully support your theory. If it did, you’d see a more consistent progression. While there may be a correlation, it’s quite the stretch to say that the # of pre-marital partners is causally related to divorce rates.
