The Poway gunman: “I’d rather die in glory...” Don’t give it to him. Don’t share his manifesto. Don’t say his name. Don’t share his photo. Remember the victims and survivors (a survivor is pictured below).

איך וועל זיי איבערלעבן!🕯️ A saying in my mother tongue (Yiddish), from after the Holocaust. I will never forget my grandfather, a Holocaust survivor (who lost his mother + 7 siblings), finishing stories with that saying. Today, I feel it. I know it.

NO ONE ever, in any hospital, nor any mother who has just given birth, is conspiring with a doctor on whether or not to commit infanticide. This is perhaps one of the sickest accusations levied by this deranged dictator yet. Don’t believe a word he says about anything important//

Apparently the only way to stop a bad guy from running the NRA is with another bad guy who was involved in the illegal sale of weapons to Iran.

born in 1822. He was not a perfect man, but he was a true hero who led the against the treasonous & the rebels. Grant adored his wife, doted on his kids, was kind & humble, & was a reader & lover of words. This late photo of him is my favorite.

I will be eternally grateful to Ron Chernow for writing biographies of 2 of my favorite guys in history, Grant & Hamilton. Each was maligned by lesser figures who came later; Chernow rehabbed the rep of both with truth. “Who lives, who dies, who tells your story.”

This is Silas Soule. You should think about him and his family anytime someone defends Robert E. Lee or Thomas Jefferson or Andrew Jackson with "Well, everybody back in the day thought that." Here's his story: <1/13>
