I ran to break up the status quo that was failing so many. That isn't just in City Hall. It's a shame that in 2021, the City Hall press corps is overwhelmingly White in a city where more than half of the city identifies as Black, Latino, AAPI or Native American.

So is competence and quality. Diversity is not a check-the-box exercise based on the color of your skin, but on the diversity of views and perspectives. By restricting interviews to those based on the color, you’re falling in to the same trap that you complain about. How ironic
By doing this you are excluding very qualified people who have worked long and hard to get where they are. The system isn’t rigged except for areas where you are directly rigging it.
