Yeah. That’s progress. But — rape kits are mostly stranger rape cases. I know at least a dozen people who have reported acquaintance/spousal rape to the SFPD & gotten zero help. Alameda county found that prosecuting these cases turned many unmatched rape kits green.

@chesaboudin emphasized in his campaign 9/562 rapes reported to sfpd got to the district attorney in 2019, and if I remember one of them saw charges. Now, he's digging through that awful backlog, and charging those past cases. -
Wow. I did not know that figure, but it doesn’t surprise me. Is there a special team assigned to the backlog?
