Actually although as Chesa took office San Francisco had a notorious multi year backlog of untested rape kits in the year since he took office,
@chesaboudin tested all of them, and is the process of charging that backlog of cases. -
Yeah. That’s progress. But — rape kits are mostly stranger rape cases. I know at least a dozen people who have reported acquaintance/spousal rape to the SFPD & gotten zero help. Alameda county found that prosecuting these cases turned many unmatched rape kits green.
