We've been busy trying to improve the robustness and generalizability of DL approaches to uncover neural dynamics (like LFADS) 🧠 Check out our first step at . Congrats !🎉 & paper below. More exciting work in the pipeline.

Strong endorse. MCN at Woods Hole was a formative experience for me. Helped me start to understand the breadth of Computational Neuroscience and make great friends that I still see at conferences, many years out now.

Very happy to share our new preprint! Animals have a remarkable capacity to learn new motor skills, but how does learning change neural population dynamics underlying movement?

Great postdoc opportunity in Nuyujukian lab at Stanford: they're looking to hire a computational postdoc for a study analyzing intracortical neuroelectrophysiology data recorded from people with refractory epilepsy. Posting here: . Paul is a superb mentor!

Incredibly important initiative, more than 1000 grad students sign a petition directed to Institute leadership to reduce the nearly $3000 in fees/yr paid, after-taxes, from their research/teaching stipends.

I joined the Emory/GA Tech BME PhD program admissions committee this year. I’d like to share ‘personal statement’ tips (for future apps). First, rather than just describe research experience, explain how you believe this has prepared you to complete a PhD thesis.

1/n Motor cortex controls the arm by sending neural activity patterns to the spinal cord and brainstem. But how are these patterns generated? We study this question in our new paper in , with J-Z Guo, J Cohen, M Mischiati, , et al.

In order to make intracortical microstimulation (ICMS) useful as a means to restore somatosensation in a BCI, it needs to be fast; single-electrode ICMS is not. By using many electrodes simultaneously (mICMS) we made it as fast or faster than nature did ().
