Your solutions are not working this is evidenced by the sky high re-arrest rates in San Francisco. Everyday we hear about a criminal with stay away orders and multiple charges our committing new crimes. These people MUST be held accountable and removed from our streets!!

It is NOT the DA’s job to enact justice reform by unilaterally not enforcing the law. If you refuse to enforce the laws we will remove you.

And can we stop talking about breaking in homes and cars as “property crimes”? It doesn’t get more personal that a criminal breaking into your HOME! This is a personal crime with victims who are devastated. Stop equating break ins to only affecting property (like graffiti).

The standard Chesa is using isn't personal vs property crime, it's violence. "We must act with urgency to ensure that detention is used only when the risk of great bodily harm to another person outweighs the community public health consequences. I’m surprised you didn’t quote this line: “Inevitably, tragedies will occur.” Trying to make this individual tragedy about mass incarceration is disingenuous and deceitful. You failed so you’re blaming mass incarceration. Shame on the @sfchronicle for publishing this.
