Disappointed that @hknightsf chose not to include facts disproving her desired narrative about our work. So much misleading info in this piece it’s impossible to respond in 280 characters.https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/heatherknight/article/Is-public-safety-a-priority-for-DA-Chesa-Boudin-15654795.php …

I also invited this survivor to help us ensure that no survivors undergo similar experiences. She declined, saying she didn’t want to help us for free. So we offered incentives for our survey—a recognition that folks who take time to fill out surveys might want a thank you.

The truth is
@hknightsf has previously written how prior administrations had filings rates of 40% in sexual assault cases—which they reported as twice the national average. Yet somehow the fact that that filings went up by 17% under me is treated by@hknightsf as a failing.Show this thread -
Strange that
@hknightsf implied that our pilot to expand testing for sexual assault survivors doesn’t matter because she didn’t like the announcement timing. It was an effort involving multiple agencies, planned for weeks. Sorry,@hknightsf that it posed a hiccup for you.Show this thread -
Our survey aimed to give survivors an opportunity to be heard by us—including those who don’t have a media platform. But the perspectives of two survivors whose crimes happened years before I took office don’t represent all survivors.

It’s fine to disagree with our policies or practices. But,
@hknightsf, at least tell the whole story and stop misleading SF residents about our priorities or our work. And no amount of these attacks will stop me from working to make the legal system better serve victims.Show this thread

It wasn’t the story the VICTIM wanted to tell and clearly that bothers you. Because you’re always the real victim right Chesa?

What exactly would be the level of force that would satisfy
@chesaboudin to file a felony charge? Raping a 13-year-old? Nope! Killing a woman with an illegal concealed gun? Nope. Seems like the bar is stratospheric.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Isn’t there some sort of victim-DA attorney client relationship ethical violation going on here? This is unbelievable

DA’s don’t represent victims, they represent “the people”.

If you don't know how to talk to a victim don't. Find someone who does. And do not publicly Tweet emails Said Victim may have supposed to be private. This is disgraceful. This tweet was not to help the victim it was to help yourself.
