Being poor is not a crime. Being unhoused is not a crime. It is unacceptable to seize & destroy someone's property when they leave momentarily to use the restroom. We must do a better job responding to the homelessness crisis. This is inhumane.

On Friday night I saw DPW give several courteous warnings to drug addicts & ppl in tents to move so they could clean up Willow St (at Larkin). Every time they came back no one had moved & the street remained filthy, with feces, needles, etc strewn all over. What’s your solution?

Why are churches, majority EMPTY MONDAY THRU SATURDAY NIGHT yet still running heating/cooling, lights, water, not sheltering the homeless ? Alot have kitchens, gyms large enough for 100s of cots, all have bathrooms and they could easily attach a shower facility...
