Who’s saying your policy positions aren’t ripe for attack? End mass incarceration? SF already sends fewer to CDCR than other counties. Too many misdos in trial? Defense counsel has a role there. And your response as DA is just to roll over and forget those cases? We could go on.

What if a DA ran for PD and said, “I want to plead all our cases at arraignment” or “let’s just pick and choose which charges we’ll accept appointments on and forget the others”? Total abdication of adversarial role, right? That’s what you’re doing but in reverse.
