Based on the relationship and flow of the diagram, does it mean that both Sony and Warner individually own a 2.9% stake in SPOT?
-
Oh no sorry, that's just Sony! Warner sold all its shares in Spotify in 2018:https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/warner-music-group-sells-spotify-stake-504m-1132692 …

What does it mean to "hold stake" in another corporation? Does Tencent Music's 9.2% encompass Spotify's 9.1%? Does that give Tencent Music a .08% stake in itself? Is stake transitive? Does Tencent Holdings technically hold 5.7% of Spotify? (.58 * .092 + .1 * .035)
-
Don't overthink it lol. Tencent has 9.2 of SPOT And SPOT has 9.1 of Tencent. They don't trade under the same name in the market.

It’s market power, ensuring a prime place in the distribution chain. That why they built things like WEA back in the days. Same football, same plays
