    I’m on the verge of (happy) tears. Just phoned Wally Funk and apparently I’m the first to publicly congratulate her - “oh have they told everybody? I thought it’d be next week!” She can’t wait, has a window seat and is doing her exercises. “I’ve been waiting a lifetime, honey...”

    Wally Funk's flight to space has been 60 years in the making. A legend in aviation, in 1961 Wally aced (beating out john glenn for many tests) the medical tests necessary for spaceflight as part of the later-named "Mercury 13" and was fighting for women to have a place in space

    If you work in please dont use phrases such as “as we all know” or “obviously”. I’ve said this before but it always crops up and it’s really alienating to your audience. Is it obvious really? Most of all - “to dumb it down for you” is never an appropriate term. Ever.
