Who is paying for this? Every one has healthcare, just walk in to a hospital. How are you going to pay for this in the future?

Allowing people to have access to preventative healthcare in the long-term saves America money. If people can prevent illnesses from snowballing into something debilitating, they are able to continue to work and contribute the economy- 1/x
-
Everyone has access, no one can be turned away from an ER, it's the law. Bottom line someone pays for this no matter what. Medicare for all will cost the US taxpayers over $30 trillion, in Maine it will cost millions and prevent nothing.
-
But that's not access to preventative care, that's only access to emergency care. Emergency rooms only have to stabilize you, not provide you long-term care options or preventative care. The emergency room is for heart-attacks, not receiving your chemo after a cancer diagnosis.
-
Visited an ER lately? Why do you think hospital list millions in charity care every year? What do you think MaineCare is for? Check all the clinics throughout the state. There is plenty of access! Check Canada and the UK, ask them about single payor.
-
That's different from the emergency room. Charity care doesn't equal the emergency room. As per asking Canada how they feel about their healthcare system, in 2009 85.2% of Canadians said they were more satisfied than not with their healthcare system.
-
Ask them how long they wait for care. How many don’t get it for months. Also yes ER visits are part of charity care. If you chose to give more to the government you can do so every year on your tax return. I chose not to.

Congratulations to
#Maine for having a competent governor again! Now how about an equally competent new Senator in a couple of years? - 1 more reply

Really curious as to how this will be paid for? Will you just not pay the hospitals again?
