I have absolutely no problem with infant baptism
so long as their first words are: “I repent of my sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone.”

Baptism doesn’t save you. Thief on the cross never baptized and yet joined Jesus that day in Paradise. It is an outward display of an inward change or “circumcision”, if you will, of the heart.

Well for one, you don’t that he wasn’t. Many people were baptized by John. So why doesn’t baptism save? Tell me how it doesn’t give the Spirit or forgiveness. So according to this, baptism is just basically to show I believe? Seems pretty empty and pointless if we deny what

Yes. It is a public profession or sign of your changed and repentant heart. Jesus+nothing=salvation. Nowhere in the Bible does it say baptism saves you. Great commission given by Jesus to go and make disciples. Promise is now AVAILABLE to gentiles and their kids, not just Jews.

What about 1 Peter 3:21? Not the act itself per say but what is given in it does
-
"Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience" You are right, it says the physical act is not what saves you, but the change of heart - appeal to God. Baptism REPRESENTS a change of heart/new life
-
But it actually gives that too...repentance and faith are gifts that God creates in us

John 6:47 Jesus speaking, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.”
-
And 1 John 5:13 ' I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.'
