    When delivering meals in New Orleans, the WCK team learned it was Marie’s birthday! 🎉 Her mother-in-law lives around the corner from Life Transformation Community Center where we delivered 500 meals. She told us the food was very, very good!

  4. We are going for tens of thousands of meals a day in multiple locations from Little Caillou to Lafitte to 9th to Houma etc….we are here to help! To be heard! We need a centralized feeding command! and myself we are ready for it!

  5. I met Pastor Luke down in Lafitte south of New Orleans. His church flooded…but that didn’t stop him from working with to set up a food distribution center here! He told us: "I've been through Katrina and we can get through Ida. But food is the fuel to rebuild!"

    After the kitchen closes, we head to the New Orleans streets to deliver meals to those who can’t make it to food pickup sites. No power means it’s pitch black out, so we serve illuminated by taillights from the back of a WCK vehicle. It’s now day 5 with no electricity.

    Today the WCK team added a new stop on our daily distribution route through Houma! We served 200 meals for families with La Alianza de Trabajadores de Marisco y Pescado—a group providing support for undocumented immigrants working in the local fishing industry.

    This is Malcom & Dwayne! They are longtime friends who both lost their roofs during Ida & their homes are starting to mold...For now they sleep on their porches. No power means no food…so they come to for a hot meal each day—always with big smiles!

    UPDATE from Lafitte south of New Orleans where we are distributing hot meals with Father Luke outside his church here. The water is starting to go down thankfully so more community members are coming back…One step at a time we will get through this!

    In Reno, Nevada, WCK is supporting local restaurant Great Full Gardens to provide lunch to pop-up camp for children whose families have evacuated due to the & fires. On the menu: organic turkey & cheese sandwiches with homemade 🍪!
