"Embrace of the Serpent" is easily the most profound piece of anti-colonial cinema I've seen. It's an astute diagnosis of the culture that has wrought such destruction for the past 500 years, and a film that pulses with relevance as our world burns.

Factoid: There's a whole other chapter/story I'd come up with that takes place between Chapters 4 and 5 for Little Bird which we couldn't do for a myriad of reasons. Perhaps if people still care about this book 10 years from now, we'll do it.
