Marley Dias was 12 when she created the campaign. She created the campaign due to the lack of diversity in the books at her school. Her goal was to collect 1,000 books with Black girls as the main character to donate to schools. She now has over 9,000 books.

I'm old enough to remember when "national emergency" actually meant an emergency to the nation and not an emergency to a damaged politico ego.

Sam Cooke is my favorite singer EVER. I am honored be a commentator in new ⁦⁩ doc film on his life, music, tragic death, “The Two Killings of Sam Cooke.” It is about American history, Black history, entertainment industry, about speaking out. This is a MUST-WATCH.

On a side note: Where would one have even gotten a Klan costume in 1984? They weren’t in the Sears catalog! Whose mother sat at her Singer sewing machine and made this?! I want to shame her too. Lol.
