    Couldn’t agree more. It’s like asking kids to memorise the names of individual washing machine components. An exercise in methodically extinguishing any and all traces of joy.

    I’ve been jammy enough to have seen 4/6 of this series and think it’s great. Not to mention dazzling and *addictive*. The focus is on human experience, from the late 50s to today; fascinating stories of fascinating characters, unfolding like a novel. (There are also funny bits).
