Also need to mention that you don't have to be registered as a declared Democrat to vote. My husband, a registered Independent, was able to choose either Democrat or GOP ballot.
Texas has no declared party voter registration. It’s called a semi-open primary. Any registered voter can choose D or R party primary to vote in. If runoff is necessary, you vote in the same party runoff. Vote for anyone in the general election.

When did this change? In the past, I voted R in the primary. When I went to vote in the general, I was handed a ballot with ONLY Republican candidates. I wasn’t able to vote for a Libertarian or Independent candidate.
