My son was sanctioned for 3 months because he missed 2 meetings that he knew nothing about. Luckily he had us to rely on, many people don't have that cushion to fall back on.

One lovely trick the DWP pulled on me a few years ago was to send a letter that requd attention within 14 days & then wait 12 days to post it. When I pulled them up on this they claimed it was nothing to do with them & was entirely Royal Mail's fault.

#magistratescourt would never punish a first time offender this severely. But there is no#FairTrial in open court at the#jobcentre. It is a perversion of British#justice behind closed doors. -

A 9:20 am phone call appointment. Good chance that was a single mum who had kids to take to school. In 3 months in 2017 we had more than 25 women sanctioned for missing appointments that were purposefully made at school time. They have targets to make.

Worst part about dwp: -Don't attend, get handed an indirect death sentence -Do attend, "Oh you attended an appointment on time, well then you MUST be fit enough to work!!"

No, the worst part is, if you're on time you don't get so much as an apology if you're still sitting there 15mins after your appointment time, but if you turn up 15 minutes late then you'll be judged almost like a criminal and be immediately sanctioned.
