I know this is *crazy* but what if conservatives skew closer to the C-average of humanity? There's nothing wrong with that, but let's not go around pretending *everyone* deserves A's.

Take political ideology out of it. What does the word “conservative” mean? You’ll realize that it’s exactly the definition of what a professor doesn’t want. They like big, bold statements. Not noncommittal solutions to problems.

I’m a teacher. My students don’t get docked for being conservative; they get docked for being unable to think critically

about and support their positions with credible evidence. Largely, it’s my conservative students who won’t back their stances up.

Well, yeah. Once they start trying to recall how they came to hold that opinion, they realize the answer is “cuz Jesus”, “cuz my Dad says so” or “cuz some guy on YouTube says so,” and asking them to back it up means potentially shattering their faith in God, Dad, and/or YouTube.
