3 things. 1) by your logic, then red states like Texas & Arizona would also suffer by this new apportionment. 2) only counting US citizens eliminates *legal* Visa holders as well.. which is problematic. 3) what happened to *originalism*? Founders said count all the "people"
If we only counted US citizens in the census instead of illegal foreign nationals, California, New York, and Illinois would lose a combined 18 electoral votes This is why the Democrats want illegals to be counted in the census

By counting illegals in the census, Dems are trying to alter the Dem/Rep Electoral split - which has the effect of disenfranchising Republicans.

TBH, authentic illegals won't even be around to answer census questions! They will hide! or They just won't respond. This prob doesn't affect all that much. They came here illegally, why would they fill out a census form?

That could happen, but as a former Census workers we combed every black,dark alley, ever field, every nook and cranny to find just one more to fill out our http://form.You didn't care who they were or if English spoken, just fill out the form.

You hit it. Board of Elections must track new voters fo the INS rolls, which they don't. Illegal aliens have been voting in US elections for years, we have no way to stop them as citizenship is required in no state to vote.

The only good thing is that a majority of these illegals refuse to participate and if they do they lie. I worked for the Census and during training we were told many will never answer truthfully or even participate. That this was okay shocked us.

Non citizens should not have the right to vote, or effect the electoral college or number or representatives in any way. Having them do so is dishonest and deceitful, and dilutes the voice of law abiding citizens

I would certainly agree with you that legal immigrants are legal sir. I have had quite a few good friends over the years who fell into that category. I simply meant only citizens should vote.
