Review of First Man. A worthy companion to Apollo 13. Gets high marks for technical precision from Apollo hands and (for me) a remarkable sense of what it was like in a Gemini or an Apollo spacecraft. Leisurely pace--very 20th century.

Oy vey. Imagine Iwo Jima without the flag. It was an American achievement. There are "white guys" in lots of places and in that age range with wives.

Literally the movie is about Americans and NASA and mentions no other nation other than a dig at the Soviets when they dock w Agena
-
There's a part in the movie where random foreigners are interviewed being like, "yeah, I figured if anyone could do this, it'd be the United States"

It’s not so much a matter of the quantity of credit. It’s the fact that their reason for intentionally deleting it was anti-American.

spoiler alert I thought it was a very ambitious film that delivered both the technical accomplishment of the space program as well as a complicated/anguished husband/wife relationship.

I get what you’re saying but the bottom line is that the American flag being unfurled on the Moon absolutely should’ve been depicted. I won’t be paying to see this film.

They showed a shot with the flag on the moon so it’s really a non-issue

If not for our subverters (who now own our governments and therefore former nations), we'd probably have gone to Mars by now (no sarcasm intended). (We should collectively weep [as a species] for what might have been [and will never now be].)
