We had 20 years where human emissions, measured atmospheric co2 and temperature were moving up in lockstep. Since then we've had 20 years where the temperature is flat, human emissions have greatly accelerated, and atmospheric co2 increase rate stayed constant. It's screwy.

Exactly. People screaming for political solutions will not face reality. The best they will say is “every little bit helps,” but that’s not true. Drastic , crippling reductions here will not offset China.

There were [till a few years ago anyway] 600,000,000 people in India whose homes had no electricity. As sure as sunrise *they are going to* get power and a modern life. No Indian pol could or should impede this. No Western CO2 efforts could begin to offset this brute fact.
