    Found the Varied Thrush 4 times with unobstructed view. Best of all is that I got 3 people who never have seen the bird to see it! Near the same place, the orange tree at Nethermead and the 3 Arches bridge, PP. It's time to go for it, the VT may not show up again for a few years.

    Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. There were 2 of them near 3 Arches bridge at Prospect Park. I was testing my new post-processing softwares and took photos with iso 5000. Both Topaz, Denoise AI and Sharpen AI performed really well!

    Yesterday was one of those incredible birding days at Jones Beach! Adelia led the BBC trip and also found most of nice ducks there. We had numerous great sightings. The Thick-billed Murre was special and first for most of us! Thank you Adelia and Peter for organizing the trips!

    It's like a fantasy situation where you want to be close up to a good bird and study it. Today was my dream came through with the Painted Bunting! I was so close to it that I have to zoom back from 400 to 250mm to take the photos one on one. I cannot ask for anything better!

    Cold this morning looking for the Painted Bunting. Went around and around. I didn't find it until I was going to leave. Spent one on one with the PB 4ft away with the sun on the bird until all my cards were filled. What a glorious day with this one! Located at end of upper level.

    Interesting facts about those tiny little hooks on the wings. According to Scholastic, When its wings are folded, the bat uses its hooks to climb tree trunks, rocky walls, and other rough surfaces. The skin connecting the webbed fingers is also attached to the bat's clawed feet.
