    I've been watchin the gorgeous show The Longest Day in Chang'an 长安十二时辰, and parts of it look very Assassins Creed-y...turns out the show was based on a novel which was inspired by the internet asking the author how they would tell an Assassins Creed story in China?!

    Here's a thing 2020 got right. A family member came out as trans. Everyone in my very Southern family switched to the new name and correct gender without resistance. In private, there were requests to help remember. One person said, "I don't want to be Rowling."

    Look, I know everyone doesn't like to hear about Islamophobia in YA, but for years, I had to pore through books that had subtle jokes and jabs, military praise and glorification and downright hateful references. Subtle Islamophobia has been a thing in YA for years.
