BCBS once denied me coverage as I’d recently had mono. Mono, which has no real treatment then sleep and take care of yourself (unless the pharmaceutical companies have invented a drug to make more money since then).

Add to that 'living outside the country'. I had a 2 year wait imposed when returning to the US after living outside the US for 8 years before the ACA.
