For a token or on-chain assets to make sense, a game must have a viable path to becoming an enduring platform. If the game has a shelf life of 3 months, there's little reason for game assets to be on-chain.
This is what makes UGC driven, sandbox games such a natural fit for web3

Prediction - most web3 games will fail to go mainstream initially and will refocus their efforts on appealing to crypto and nft enthusiasts.
