I am actually very interested in what people think. As ignorant, biased and bigoted as they may very well be; nothing is better than hearing what they actually think (as opposed to what they think is acceptable to say). I understand not everyone feels this way.

This is why I support free speech. If I want people to speak freely it's my responsibility to try as hard as I can to tolerate their speech. To me this means forgiveness if they say (not do) something I find vulgar and later change their mind.

It means calling them dumb and gently mocking them at worst. I wouldn't ever want someone fired or harassed. I want them heard. If I create a social atmosphere where speaking is heavily punished I won't get to listen to people anymore; safe, consensus approved slogans only
